GUATEMALA

The Van is sold now and we are Backpackers using the local busses. We stay in Xela first, head to Antigua to take a week of Spanish classes, then Lake Atitlan and Tikal to see Maya ruins.

Don’t eat yoghurt in the South, 3 days sick in a small hostel. The owner ensures we do not dehydrate – with Gatorade.
Antigua – a must see!

Pretty safe by day – not safe at night!

Atitlan.

We take a plane to the North of Guatemala, close to Belize to see Tikal, a place of the Mayas.
Home is where color is.

Tikal was a major City until it disappeared 600 A.D. without any clear reason we know today. It is hot, very hot and humid.
