CHILE

After a week of rest to recover from the accident, we head towards Chile. we like to see the Glacier Perito Moreno in Argentina, do a week of hiking in Torres del Paine and take the train in Temuco to go North. Climbing on a Vulcano and do some white water rafting is part of the bucket list. No risk, no fun.

We see Santiago de chile, head east to celebrate Christmas in Mendoza and the millennium in Buenes Aires again.

We meet a very funny guy from the UK, wo travels the world with his bike.
Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales, El Calafate, the towns have amazing names. We never expected these colorful houses.
The W-Walk in Torres del Paine is a 5 day tour passing the French Valley, Base of the towers and Glacier grey. Notro is flowering in an intensive red and the water in the Lakes is turquoise. Food, sleeping bag, tent, we need to carry it all. No refugios, no glamping at that time in 1999, just wild camping.
In Pucon we get a mountain guide and climb the Vulcano Villarica, a 2400m summit. Ice pickles are needed to get up and wearing a gas mask is a must on the top of the active volcano. Most fun though is sliding down on your bud, like in an ice channel.
